As Regional Chief Medical Officer, Asia for 69É«ÇéƬ, Heather Lund provides medical consultation, expertise and technical assistance for reinsurance underwriting and claims assessment. Her responsibilities include evaluating medical factors in the underwriting risk assessment and claims management process, as well as integrating medical practice policies into product definitions, underwriting guidelines, standards, and manuals. Her research and technical medical advice also support the actuarial business development, marketing, and pricing teams across the region. In addition, she provides value-added services to clients through educational training seminars and other communications regarding risk selection issues.
A native of South Africa, Heather joined 69É«ÇéƬ in February of 2015 after nearly 15 years of clinical experience and seven years of reinsurance experience. Prior to joining 69É«ÇéƬ, Heather served as Medical Officer for Hannover Re in South Africa.
Heather received a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery Degree (MBBCh) from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, and regularly contributes articles to medical publications as well as serving on industry boards and committees.
