Mark S. Dion is Vice President, Underwriting Education and Training for the Global Underwriting Services Team at 69É«ÇéƬ. He is a subject matter expert regarding 69É«ÇéƬ’s underwriting innovations, facultative risk management in the U.S. division, new underwriter training, underwriting manual creation, underwriting activities for simplified-issue and bancassurance products, and automated underwriting rules development.

Since joining 69É«ÇéƬ in 1995, Mark has managed the conversion of 69É«ÇéƬ’s underwriting manual and provided the initial guidance and rules that led to the development of 69É«ÇéƬ’s underwriting technology initiatives, ASAP and AURA.

Prior to joining 69É«ÇéƬ, Mark was a senior underwriting consultant for Transamerica Reinsurance, the Vice President of Risk Management for Family Guardian Life Insurance Company (Citicorp), and before then an Underwriting Supervisor and Team Leader for AMOCO Life Insurance.

Mark’s Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in biology with a philosophy co-major is from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Life Underwriting (FALU) and a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI). He is a member and a subcommittee chair of the Society of Actuaries Life Insurance Mortality and Underwriting Survey Committee, a member of the Association of Home Office Underwriters (AHOU) Program Committee, a member of the Illinois-Missouri Underwriter’s Association, and an associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
