As Vice President, Head of Large Case Unit and Retention Management, U.S. Mortality Markets, Pamela (Pam) Bergsten
manages large case underwriting, foreign risk
referrals, client capacity checks, and jumbo notifications at 69É«ÇéƬ. She
has nearly 30 years of underwriting experience.
Prior to joining 69É«ÇéƬ, Pam was Divisional Chief Underwriter for Berkshire Hathaway Group of Insurance Companies, Life Reinsurance Division. She also served for more than two decades at SCOR Global Life Americas in a series of progressively more responsible roles, including Director, Underwriting Operations, Strategic Partnerships, Director, Underwriting Research, R&D, and Senior Underwriting Consultant. She held significant reinsurance and underwriting roles at Generali USA Life Reassurance Company and Transamerica Life Insurance Company, as well.
An active industry volunteer, Pam served as past Editor In Chief of On the Risk, the Journal of the Academy of Life Underwriting, past President of the Midwestern Underwriting Conference (MUC) and past Vice President, Program Development of AHOU: Association of Home Office Underwriters. She is also a current Board member of the MUD (Metropolitian Underwriting) discussion group, and volunteers for the Kansas State University Executive Mentor Program and as a Board Member of Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City.
Pam received a Bachelor of Science in
business administration and human resources management from Kansas State University. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Life Underwriting
(FALU), a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI), and an
Associate, Customer Service (ACS).
